This tour takes you to the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest with visits to the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Redwood National Park.

Travel south across the legendary Golden Gate Bridge to the “City by the Bay”, San Francisco, for more fantastic sightseeing.  The highlight of your visit to Wine Country will be the spectacular views and gourmet lunch served onboard the Napa Valley Wine Train.  Includes a visit to the resort of Lake Tahoe, the old-west town of Virginia City and the unique town of Jackpot.

Edmonton to Calgary to Cranbrook

Sunday. All aboard for a scenic tour to the Pacific Northwest and California. Depart Edmonton, meeting additional travelling companions as you travel south via Red Deer to Calgary.  Lethbridge passengers board the coach in Fort Macleod but will be dropped off in Lethbridge on the return trip.  Continue to Cranbrook, BC for overnight.

Cranbrook to The Dalles

Monday.  Cross the Canadian/American border and travel through three American states: Idaho, Washington and Oregon.  Continue to The Dalles for overnight.

The Dalles to Newport

Tuesday. Today experience the soul of the Columbia, the grand river of the American West.  Large dams and fish ladders add to the scenic route.  Continue to Portland where you swing west to the spectacular Oregon coast.  Enjoy the scenery as you travel south on Highway #101,  ending your day in Newport, home of Oregon’s largest fishing fleet. Prior to arrival at your hotel visit the OREGON COAST AQUARIUM – a 30-acre site that provides a close-up glimpse of the fascinating marine and bird life inhabiting nearby waters.

Newport to North Bend

Wednesday. Enjoy the scenery today as you travel the coastal route marked by endless bays and jagged rocks pounded by the ocean surf.  After a leisurely lunch in OLD TOWN FLORENCE enter the unusual landscape of the OREGON DUNES NATIONAL RECREATION AREA.  This extremely scenic area contains huge hills and deep valleys of sand, several lakes and numerous “Ghost” forests created by the timeless action of the wind moving the massive sand dunes.  Conclude your day in North Bend.

North Bend to Eureka

Thursday.  Begin your day with a visit to the MYRTLEWOOD FACTORY where intricately grained rare hardwood is turned into a surprising array of beautiful and useful products. Continuing south, enter the redwood country of California and stop in the famous REDWOOD NATIONAL PARK, a place where the trees are so tall the sun seldom hits the ground!  Arrive in Eureka for overnight.

Eureka to San Francisco

(2 nights) Friday. Enjoy a tour through Eureka and marvel at the beautiful Victorian architecture.  Journey through more redwood forest including the AVENUE OF THE GIANTS, a scenic highway loaded with towering trees. Visit the HUMBOLDT REDWOODS STATE PARK headquarters.  Then enjoy a delicious PICNIC LUNCH in the heart of the redwoods before continuing south to the legendary Golden Gate Bridge and into the “City by the Bay”.  Arrive in San Francisco for a two-night stay at the Sheraton Fishermans Wharf. Your hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to Fishermans Wharf, Pier 39 and the Cable Car Lines.

San Francisco

Saturday. This morning enjoy a GUIDED TOUR of one of the most exciting and best-loved cities in the world.  Your sightseeing excursion includes a ride on a world-famous CABLE CAR to Union Square and a panoramic view of San Francisco and the bay area from the top of Twin Peaks.  Arrive PIER 39 in time for lunch, browsing time and a spectacular San Francisco BAY CRUISE. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy in this beautiful city.  Return to your hotel for overnight.

San Francisco to Napa

(2 nights) Sunday. Travel to Napa, north of San Francisco Bay, for a two-night stay.  This 17 mile-long valley, the birthplace of the California wine industry is lined with hundreds of acres of vineyards where many of the state’s world-class wines are created. Enjoy a WINERY TOUR and TASTING prior to arriving at your hotel for two nights.

Napa

Monday. An exciting day is in store for you today – a relaxing three-hour excursion on the NAPA VALLEY WINE TRAIN from Napa through the world’s most famous wine valley to the quaint village of St. Helena and back!  Enjoy the spectacular views from a vintage dining car while being served a delicious four-course GOURMET LUNCH.  The rest of the day is yours to explore this beautiful area.

Napa to Lake Tahoe to Virginia City to Reno

Tuesday. Today journey over the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the beautiful resort and gambling town of SOUTH LAKE TAHOE for a brief stop.  Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America. Then it’s off to the famous old-west mining town of VIRGINIA CITY to explore and wander on the wooden sidewalks of this 19th century gold and silver-mining town.  Continue to Reno for overnight.

Reno to Jackpot

Wednesday. Bid farewell to Reno.  Make a stop in Winnemucca and continue to Jackpot for overnight.

Jackpot to Great Falls

Thursday. Travel north across the state of Idaho, enter the state of Montana and arrive in Great Falls for your last night. Join your travelling companions for a HOSTED FAREWELL DINNER.

Great Falls to Calgary to Edmonton

Friday. Stop at the duty free store and then re-enter Canada.  Return home with fond memories of your Oregon/California Holiday.
