Calgary to Edmonton to Valemount

Friday December 20.  Your Christmas Celebration Tour begins as you are welcomed aboard your deluxe coach in Calgary.  Travel north via Red Deer to Edmonton where you’ll meet your travelling companions at a HOSTED LUNCH.  Cross the border into British Columbia and continue to the village of Valemount for overnight.

Valemount to New Westminster

Saturday December 21.  Today travel through the beautiful landscape of the North Thompson Valley area as you continue to Blue River, Clearwater and Kamloops enroute to New Westminster for overnight.  Arrive at your unique hotel, the Inn at the Quay, which is in a wonderful location stretching out over the mighty Fraser River, right next door to the Riverfront Boardwalk and within walking distance of the Skytrain Station to downtown Vancouver.  Choose to relax and watch the boats go by from your riverview room or go exploring.

New Westminster to Chemainus to Victoria

(4 nights) Sunday December 22.  Board a BC FERRY for a scenic sailing to Nanaimo, the second largest city on Vancouver Island. Travel south to the village of Chemainus for the launch of your Christmas festivities with a delicious BRUNCH and live AFTERNOON THEATRE PERFORMANCE featuring Miracle on 34th Street-the Christmas story we all want to believe in!  Kris Kringle, a retired elderly man, is hired as Macy’s New York Department Store Santa.  He directs parents to stores where they can find the exact perfect gift on their child’s Christmas list.  As he threatens the commercialization of Christmas those in charge try to have him committed.  The stakes are raised with a court competency hearing and the risk of one little girl’s belief in Santa Claus.  When the court confirms that Kris is the true Santa, both children and adults alike experience the delight of childhood fantasy.  Enjoy a short DRIVING TOUR to see some of the many murals which cover entire sides of buildings in this coastal village before travelling a short distance to Victoria.  You’ll be humming a Christmas tune as you arrive for a four night stay at the  Huntington Manor.  This historic property is conveniently located near the picturesque inner harbour just a short walk to downtown.  Includes daily breakfast.

Monday December 23.  Your exciting day begins with a visit to the beautiful BUTTERFLY GARDENS followed by the magical sight of Christmas illuminations as BUTCHART GARDENS is transformed with a remarkable display of thousands of twinkling lights and seasonal decorations.  After enjoying a very special SEASONAL AFTERNOON HIGH TEA, carollers and a brass band playing traditional holiday music will add to the magic as you view the miles of evergreen swags, wreaths, holly ivy and winterberries adorning walkways.  Wander through the amazing Twelve Days of Christmas display, find the reindeer for a fun ride on the beautiful carousel, see the skaters under strings of twinkling lights and then warm yourself with a cup of hot chocolate by the fire!  Return to your hotel.

Tuesday December 24.  Feel the Christmas spirit as you depart for a GUIDED TOUR to see the city dressed in its holiday finery.  The rest of your afternoon is free to take in Christmas festivities in this beautiful harbour city.  Perhaps you might like to take a carriage ride or a water taxi tour of the harbour, discover Chinatown, wander by the water, explorer the beautiful historic Empress Hotel decorated for the season or spend time with friends in the area.  You’ll be humming a Christmas carol as you return to your hotel for a delicious CHRISTMAS EVE DINNER prepared by the hotel chefs just for you!

Wednesday December 25.  Wake up to the magic of Christmas with a special BREAKFAST/BRUNCH BUFFET and Christmas festivities complete with a VISIT FROM SANTA. A hospitality room supplies a place to visit today with your new-found friends. The afternoon is free to explore more of the old-world charm of this delightful British city. Perhaps you might like to take a carriage ride or a water taxi tour of the harbour, discover Chinatown, wander by the water, explore the beautiful historic Empress Hotel or spend time with friends in the area. Return to the Huntingdon, your home away from home for a TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS DINNER and festivities.

Victoria to Kamloops

Thursday December 26.  The Christmas spirit lingers as you begin your journey home. Bid farewell to Victoria as you sail across the Strait of Georgia from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen. Travel to Kamloops, located in the southern interior of British Columbia at the confluence of the North and South Thompson rivers for your overnight.
