Edmonton to Calgary to Swift Current

Friday. Your Medora Musical Black Hills Holiday begins as you are welcomed aboard your deluxe coach in Edmonton. Travel south via Red Deer to Calgary meeting additional travelling companions enroute. A stop is made in Medicine Hat before crossing the Alberta/Saskatchewan border and arriving in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.  Meet your fellow passengers at our informal WELCOME RECEPTION upon arrival.

Swift Current to Williston

Saturday. Saskatchewan passengers join the tour as you travel through Moose Jaw, Regina and Weyburn before crossing the Canadian/American border. Continue south through North Dakota to Williston.

Williston to Deadwood

(3 nights) Sunday. This morning travel through the NORTH DAKOTA BADLANDS to Deadwood, South Dakota, which was made famous by Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane. The Mineral Palace Hotel & Casino located on Deadwood’s historic main street will be your home for the next three nights.

Deadwood

Monday. A FREE DAY allows time to get acquainted with your conveniently-located hotel, sign up for a free CASINO Slot Tournament or take in live shows as Deadwood gunslingers bring the Old West Alive!   Watch daily shootouts, enjoy acoustical melodies of the Blackpowder Pistols Band or the capture of Jack McCall. Additional options are the Trial of Jack McCall and Mount Moriah Cemetery, the final resting place of Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane and other notable legends of the Wild West.

Deadwood and Area

Tuesday.Today you travel through the BLACK HILLS NATIONAL FOREST to visit two of the world’s greatest mountain carvings. MOUNT RUSHMORE NATIONAL MEMORIAL depicting four presidents’ faces is the world’s largest mountain carving. It was sculpted from the granite of the Black Hills from 1929 to 1941.   2018 is the 77th Anniversary of the completion of the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Then visit CRAZY HORSE MEMORIAL, an ongoing sculpture being carved in tribute to the North American Indian.  Return to Deadwood for overnight.

Deadwood to Medora

Wednesday. Your travels today take you north to Medora, North Dakota. A fun-filled evening awaits, with a PITCHFORK FONDUE DINNER where the cooks load rib-eye steaks onto a pitchfork for a giant fondue! Then it’s off to the rootin’-tootin’ MEDORA MUSICAL nestled in the rugged badlands of North Dakota. Overnight in Medora.

Medora to Swift Current

Thursday. Depart Medora and travel northward to re-enter Canada. Bid farewell to your travelling companions from Saskatchewan. Arrive at Swift Current for overnight.

Swift Current to Calgary to Edmonton

Friday. Today is “Going Home” day with many memories of the western frontier.
