EDMONTON to DRUMHELLER

Friday.  Your Alberta Adventure begins as you are welcomed aboard your deluxe coach in Edmonton.  Travel south via Red Deer and Calgary meeting your travel companions enroute.  Continue to Drumheller, a goldmine of ancient dinosaur skeletons and history, for overnight.  After an early dinner, it’s off to the award-winning PASSION PLAY located in a spectacular outdoor amphitheatre.

DRUMHELLER to LETHBRIDGE:

(3 nights) Saturday.  Today is all about dinosaurs!  Visit the ROYAL TYRELL MUSEUM, one of the largest palaeontology museums in the world.   After a picture stop at THE HOODOOS, travel to Lethbridge for a three-night stay in this beautiful city noted for its friendly people and warm Chinook winds.

LETHBRIDGE:

Sunday.  Begin the day as we head to FORT WHOOP-UP, a replica of an original fur trading fort built in the late 1800s, telling the story of good people, notorious characters and the flow of time. We then continue with an unforgettable cultural experience when you visit the NIKKA YUKO JAPANESE GARDEN, where the beauty of nature is combined with a serene setting. End this enjoyable day with a HOSTED BARBEQUE at HENDERSON LAKE PARK which features a man-made lake.

LETHBRIDGE:

Monday. This morning, travel south to Cardston to visit the REMINGTON CARRIAGE MUSEUM before continuing to WATERTON LAKES NATIONAL PARK, a rare gem located in the southwestern corner of Alberta.  This small picturesque village features majestic towering cliffs, unique geological formations, beautiful waterfalls and snow-clad mountain peaks.  A DRIVING TOUR includes the historic Prince of Wales Hotel and Cameron Falls followed by a scenic BOAT CRUISE on Waterton Lake.  The day comes to a close as we return to Lethbridge for overnight.

LETHBRIDGE to HIGH RIVER:

Tuesday.  Step back in time with a guided tour of the FORT MUSEUM of the NWMP.  Then visit the famous HEAD-SMASHED-IN BUFFALO JUMP to explore the colourful past of one of the oldest and largest buffalo jump sites in North America.  Continue to High River – home of the TV Series, Heartland.  This popular family drama is regularly filmed here, set against the magnificent backdrop of our southern Alberta foothills.  Visit the MUSEUM OF THE HIGHWOOD featuring ‘A Little Bit of Hollywood in High River’, special images and props on loan from the CBC television set.

HIGH RIVER to COCHRANE:

Wednesday.  An exciting day is in store as you visit the pandas at the CALGARY ZOO and the BOTANICAL GARDENS OF SILVER SPRINGS. Depart Stampede City and continue to Cochrane, located in Alberta’s high country and home to ranches and spectacular scenery. Visit the HISTORIC COCHRANE RANCHE SITE on the way to your hotel for overnight.

COCHRANE to HINTON:

Thursday.  Enjoy breathtaking scenery as you travel between Banff and Jasper on one of the world’s most spectacular highways – the ICEFIELDS PARKWAY.  Following a driving tour of Jasper, continue to Hinton for overnight. Enjoy a HOSTED FAREWELL DINNER with your fellow travellers.

Friday.   With fond memories of your Alberta Circle adventure, say farewell to your new-found friends.  Make a stop in Edmonton and continue to Calgary.
