Edmonton to Calgary to Great Falls

Monday.  Your Sunshine Excursion begins as you are welcomed aboard your deluxe coach in Edmonton.  Travel south via Red Deer to Calgary meeting additional travelling companions enroute.  Stop at the duty free store before entering the USA and  arrive in Great Falls, Montana for overnight. Enjoy an informal WELCOME RECEPTION upon arrival.


Great Falls to Jackpot

Tuesday.  Sit back and enjoy the scenery as you travel through the rugged mountains of Montana and the high plains of Idaho. Cross the Snake River Canyon at Twin Falls, enter the state of Nevada and end your day in Jackpot.  You may wish to enjoy Nevada-style gambling.


Jackpot to Las Vegas

Wednesday. Travel across the NEVADA GREAT BASIN to Las Vegas where glitter and glamour are passwords and neon lights flash day and night. Enjoy a NIGHT-LIGHT DRIVING TOUR of the famous strip on the way to your hotel for overnight. Tonight enjoy the one-of-a-kind FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE at your doorstep!

Your hotel, the Golden Nugget, is located on Fremont Street in the midst of the action. Watch the Light
and Sound Shows – displays of super-sized animation and high-resolution special effects on a canopy 90 feet overhead. There are also kiosks, shops and other entertainment in between shows for your enjoyment on this pedestrian-only street.


Las Vegas to Phoenix

(3 nights) Thursday.  Arizona here we come!  Travel south to Phoenix, a desert paradise nestled beneath a mountain playground, for a three-night stay.



Friday. A morning GUIDED TOUR of the Valley of the Sun will acquaint you with the many attractions the area has to offer. The name accurately reflects the fact that the sun shines 300 days of the year. Your tour will include the Old Scottsdale area. The afternoon will be at your leisure.  This evening join us for BARLEEN’S ARIZONA OPRY dinner and show in Apache Junction.


Phoenix Area

Saturday. A FREE DAY to take advantage of the amenities of your hotel.  Perhaps enjoy the most popular game in Arizona, golfing at one of the many golf courses located in the area or browse in some of the unique area shops.


Phoenix to Yuma

(3 nights) Sunday. This morning travel through the rich agricultural Gila River Valley where you’ll see produce farms, cattle feedlots and citrus groves. Upon arrival in Yuma enjoy a visit to Arizona’s YUMA TERRITORIAL PRISON STATE HISTORIC PARK.  Arrive at your Yuma hotel for a three-night stay.



Monday. A local STEP-ON-GUIDE will take you on an interesting TOUR of the area this morning. Enjoy lunch in historic old downtown Yuma before visiting the PEANUT PATCH and a California DATE FARM.



Tuesday. This morning join our tour to ALGODONES, MEXICO where you have a chance to use your bartering skills!  A leisure afternoon to do as you please.  Choose to relax, sit by the pool or enjoy the nearby shopping.


Yuma to Palm Springs

(4 nights) Wednesday.  Take a leisurely drive to Palm Springs, one of America’s most popular desert resort areas for an incredible four-night stay.  Accommodation is at the beautiful downtown Hyatt Palm Springs.  This enjoyable property features 197 suites located near shops, restaurants and entertainment and within walking distance to the casino. All rooms boast a coffeemaker, hairdryer, iron/board, fridge, separate living room, private balcony, safe and complimentary wifi. A daily happy hour with discounted drinks and complimentary snacks, a heated outdoor pool and hot tub will add to your enjoyment.


Palm Springs

Thursday. A morning SIGHTSEEING TOUR showcases the best of this popular playground of the rich and famous.  A local guide brings Palm Springs’ vast history and Native American heritage to life and tells stories of the celebrities who have lived in this area, including the legendary Bob Hope.  Your afternoon is at leisure.  Take advantage of the amenities of your resort hotel or simply relax by the pool.  This evening walk out the front door of your hotel into VILLAGEFEST where you’ll find entertainment, tables and kiosks of unique merchandise and food.  Palm Canyon Drive is closed to traffic and transformed into a vibrant pedestrian street fair every Thursday night.


Palm Springs

Friday. A special treat is in store for you today.  Take a ride on the world’s largest rotating AERIAL TRAMCAR which transports passengers from the Valley Station through five unique life zones up the San Jacinto Mountains to an Alpine wilderness at an elevation of 8,516 feet.


Palm Springs

Saturday.  The morning will be devoted to an entertaining visit to THE LIVING DESERT – a unique facility that is a zoo, an endangered species conservation centre, botanical gardens, a natural history museum, wilderness park, nature preserve and an education centre.  Don’t miss the “Wildlife Wonders” live animal show, a fascinating wildlife presentation featuring desert mammals, reptiles and birds of prey.   A “mall break” allows time for optional lunch and shopping prior to returning to the hotel.


Palm Springs to Las Vegas

Sunday. Tanned and rested, bid farewell to your place in the sun and travel back to Las Vegas, Nevada. Your overnight will be at the Golden Nugget downtown on Fremont Street.


Las Vegas to Ogden

Monday.  Leave the state of Nevada and travel through a small corner of Arizona which features a drive through the beautiful VIRGIN RIVER CANYON.  Travel into the state of Utah known for its beautiful Mormon temples.   Continue to Ogden for overnight.


Ogden to Great Falls

Tuesday.  Travel north through the state of Idaho, enter the state of Montana and arrive in Great Falls for a HOSTED FAREWELL DINNER with your new-found friends.


Great Falls to Calgary to Edmonton

Wednesday.  Stop at the duty free store and then re-enter Canada.  Return home with fond memories of your desert vacation.
