Edmonton to Central Alberta Sightseeing

Head for Red Deer and explore the Kerry Wood Nature Centre, located in beautiful Waskasoo Park.  It is a year-round destination that acts as a hub for the nature trails in the Red Deer river valley.  Enjoy an included guided walking tour of edible plants, led by a nature centre conservator.

After your included lunch, continue to the Ellis Bird Farm near Prentiss. Your visit to this working farm, also a non-profit organization, will reveal their important work conserving native species of cavity nesting birds such as mountain bluebirds and tree swallows.

Your last stop will be for a quick look at the World’s Largest Fishing Lure in Lacombe, along Highway 2A in Len Thompson Park.  Lacombe is home to Thompson-Palliser Bait Company, manufacturing Len Thompson lures since 1929.

Make your way back home filled with wonder at nature’s variety in our own province.

Return to Edmonton at approximately 6:00 p.m.
