Edmonton to Calgary to Swift Current

Monday.  Velkommen Everyone! Your Concert Tour begins as you are welcomed aboard your deluxe motorcoach in Edmonton.  Travel south via Red Deer to Calgary meeting additional travelling companions enroute.  A stop is made in Medicine Hat before crossing the Alberta/Saskatchewan border and arriving in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.

Swift Current to Minot

(5 nights) Tuesday.  Travel through Moose Jaw, Regina and Weyburn before crossing the Canadian/American border. Continue south through North Dakota to Minot. Arrive at your hotel for time to relax before the Høstfest entertainment begins tomorrow. Accommodation is at the Sleep Inn. This well located full-facility hotel is attached to the Dakota Square Mall.   Daily shuttle to the fairgrounds is provided.

Wednesday.  Leisure time to take in some great entertainment on the free stages! At the Hostfest, you will enjoy professional quality music shows by a host of famous entertainers on seven different stages all under one roof. The Norsk Høstfest includes a wide variety of ongoing activities such as Scandinavian arts, crafts, handiwork and antique displays; an import shop featuring Scandinavian goods; booths containing Norwegian food delicacies all combined with continuous music and performing groups. The 2019 afternoon concert was CHICKS WITH HITS featuring TERRI CLARK, PAM TILLIS AND SUZY BOGGUSS.  These three ladies, very well-known in the country music arena, formed their group in October 2017 and have been performing across the country ever since.    The 2019 evening concert featured the ever-popular charismatic DANIEL O’DONNELL, affectionately known as “Wee Daniel”.  Daniel has sold over 10 million records with music described as a mix of country and Irish folk. He is the only artist in the world to score a hit in the UK album charts every year for 30 years.

Thursday. Another day to enjoy the fun. The OPTIONAL afternoon concert last year was RICKY SKAGGS with his band Kentucky Thunder. Skaggs is an American country and bluegrass singer, musician, producer and composer who was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2018. The 2019 evening headliner was CLINT BLACK and the Emmy Award winning TEXAS TENORS. As an American country music singer, songwriter, musician, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and actor, Black has more than thirty singles with the US country charts.

Friday. Your 2019 afternoon headliner featured CHARLEY PRIDE, singer, musician, guitarist, recording artist, performer, business owner and former baseball player.  In 2016 Pride began crafting many new recordings with Billy Yates. The two artists & songwriters produced a new album that marks a high-level return to original Charley Pride standards. Following the concert you may want to join our optional DINNER/SHOPPING EXCURSION with a picture stop at the SCANDINAVIAN HERITAGE PARK.  The 2019 OPTIONAL evening concert was Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias.

Saturday. This morning, savour that last taste of Scandinavian food and catch a last bit of entertainment on the final day of this year’s Hostfest. Last year’s afternoon concert featured TERRY FATOR, a ventriloquist, impressionist, comedian and singer from Dallas, TX.  Fator uses 15 different puppets in his show which is featured at the Mirage/Las Vegas. He was the second season winner of America’s Got Talent. The OPTIONAL 2019 OPTIONAL evening concert featured the band CHICAGO, a rock band formed in 1967 in Chicago.  Despite several personnel changes throughout the years, Chicago has never stopped and their fan base remains among the most loyal of all.

Minot to Swift Current

Sunday. Travel north to retrace your steps home. Make a stop at the duty free store and re-enter Canada to overnight in Swift Current on the last evening of the tour.
