Edmonton to Pigeon Lake

Tuesday. Your Pigeon Lake Getaway begins as you are welcomed aboard your deluxe coach in Edmonton.  Travel south to Leduc meeting additional travel companions.  The first stop of the day is on Pigeon Lake’s northwest shore at RUNDLE’S MISSION, established in 1847 to interact with Indigenous peoples and help them grow their own provisions.  This National Historic Monument was dedicated to Rev. Rundle in 1967 and includes the Benjamin and Margaret Sinclair Alberta Historic Site.

Travelling south on the west side of Pigeon Lake delight in a lakeside drive through the Summer Villages of Poplar Bay, Grandview and Crystal Springs while noticing the variety of recreational residences from rustic cottages to gated mansions.  Following an included LUNCH at The Village at Pigeon Lake, visit Ma-Me-O Beach for a couple of hours of free time to enjoy the shade or have some beach time.  Pack a beach bag and lawn chair.  Visit BACKSTREET ANTIQUES AND GIFTS with a wide array of antiques including furniture, jewelry, handbags and gifts galore.  Overnight at the Village Creek Country Inn and enjoy an evening at your leisure to explore the Village at Pigeon Lake with restaurants, shops and beautiful walking trails.

Pigeon Lake to Wetaskiwin to Edmonton

Begin your day with an included BREAKFAST.  An interesting day will unfold as you travel to Wetaskiwin, also known as the “City in Motion”.  First stop is the REYNOLDS-ALBERTA MUSEUM with an included LUNCH.  This world class museum reveals Alberta’s mechanical history with displays that focus on transportation, agriculture and industry.

Afterwards, a driving tour highlights the historic and refurbished City Hall, the iconic water tower, the famous Auto Mile, and more.  For a last chance to enjoy nature in all its splendour before returning to Edmonton, a relaxing stop is planned at By The Lake Park.  This pretty location is perfect for a stroll on well-maintained paths beside the small lake or watching the ducks and fountain spout from a park bench.  Bid farewell to new-found friends as you travel north on Hwy 2A joining the QE II enroute to Edmonton.
