Edmonton to Calgary to Salmon Arm

Saturday. Your Vancouver Island Haven begins as you are welcomed aboard your deluxe coach in Edmonton. Travel south via Red Deer to Calgary meeting additional travel companions enroute.  Sit back, relax and enjoy the incredible scenery of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  Cross the border into British Columbia and continue to Salmon Arm, the “Gem of the Shuswap” to overnight at the Prestige Harbourfront Resort.  Your hotel offers a comfortable upscale experience with easy access to the wharf and downtown shops.

Salmon Arm to New Westminster

Sunday.  Enjoy the scenery on a restful travel day through Kamloops and Merritt on the way to your unique Vancouver hotel, the Inn at the Quay, in New Westminster. Built on pillars elevated over the Fraser River and ideally located next to the Riverfront Boardwalk, it is within walking distance of the Skytrain Station to downtown Vancouver. Choose to relax from your over-the-water room with balcony and watch the boats go by or go exploring.

New Westminster to Parksville:

(3 nights) Monday. Board a BC FERRY at Horseshoe Bay to enjoy a scenic sailing across the Strait of Georgia to Nanaimo, a vibrant harbour city. Travel north along the coastline to the seaside community of QUALICUM BEACH where you can wander the downtown pedestrian-friendly streets exploring unique shops, bookstores, antique shops, restaurants, outdoor cafes and galleries. Discover MORNINGSTAR FARM and LITTLE QUALICUM CHEESEWORKS with a self-guided tour to meet the farm animals, watch the robotic milker in action, learn about cheese making and enjoy some samples in the farmgate store. Then join us for an afternoon to experience the magic of MILNER GARDENS – unspoiled natural beauty steeped in royal history perched on the edge of an oceanfront bluff overlooking the Strait of Georgia.  Experience a traditional HIGH TEA at the Camellia Tea Room.  Return to the resort to enjoy the many amenities offered.

Wednesday.  Breakfast Included This morning a scenic drive to the picturesque coastal village of CHEMAINUS for a delicious LUNCH and live AFTERNOON THEATRE PERFORMANCE (TBA) followed with a SHORT DRIVING TOUR of the many murals depicting the heritage, history and nature of the area. Enjoy your last night at the resort.

Thursday.  Breakfast Included Bid farewell to beautiful Vancouver Island as you sail from Duke Point to Tsawwassen. Take in the rugged landscape of the FRASER CANYON on your way to Kamloops, located in the sunny southern interior of British Columbia.  Overnight in the heart of the city at the Doubletree by Hilton.

Friday.  Breakfast Included Enjoy the spectacular scenery as you wind your way over the majestic ROGERS PASS.  Continue to Golden for your last evening together overnighting at the BW Mountainview Inn.

Saturday.  Breakfast Included Arrive in Banff for a short DRIVING TOUR prior to lunch enroute. Make a mid-afternoon stop in Calgary before continuing to Edmonton.
