Barbara Mahrer

Barbara spent much of her career as a wife and homemaker raising her family. A teacher at heart, she home-schooled her four children and taught both full-time and as a substitute at various schools in the Brooks area. After her mother and sister came home from a Nagel tour to Eastern Canada, their wonderful stories about their tour director made Barbara realize this line of work would be a perfect fit for her. She trained at the International Tour Management Institute in San Francisco, CA, and began working in the motorcoach touring business. Barbara is keen on meeting her wonderful passengers and taking care of the details so they can simply sit back and enjoy their holiday. 

Barbara started tour directing with Nagel Tours in 2017 and has been leading tours destined for British Columbia, Seattle, Minot and Branson. 

Having travelled extensively with her family and on tours, Barbara finds that each destination offers beautiful scenery and interesting places to explore. 

Favourite travel destination:  Switzerland, which she has visited numerous times, as it is her husband’s birthplace. 

Barbara sums up the Nagel Tours experience:  With their successful history in the tour business, Barbara appreciates working with the Nagel team.  Being a tour director with Nagel Tours provides the opportunity to make new friends while discovering the world together. It is rewarding to help people and witness how kind and compassionate passengers are with each other when travelling as a group.
