Minot Norsk Hostfest – September 2016

The tour left on a clear September day
Picking up passengers along the way
Destination being Norsk Høstfest in Minot
Greeting old travelling friends meant a lot

To colourful Weyburn for lunch at the Captain
Delicious soup, sandwiches, desserts that were sin
Border crossing was very smooth – according to menu
In Minot, we headed for the famous Hostfest venue

There was something new – checking your bags
Tickets were scanned, wrists were fitted with tags
Found some supper, made our way to the Great Hall
We were ushered to our seats, awaiting the curtain call

Our first show was the FANTASTIC Daniel O’Donnell
After his hiatus, he performed wonderfully well
Next few days were hectic, lots to do and see
We wandered the halls, looking for fun and tea

There were the Western Senators and Bjorn Haaland
Ringling Five, Ricky Nelson Remembered and band
Popular Accordion Club, such harmony with the banjo
Colourful costumed dancers, fiddlers, deft with the bow

Great Hall performers, crafts, books, kiosks galore
Magician, comedy acts, duos, food and much more
Off to the Scandinavian Park, for picture taking
To the shopping mall for choices of our making

Back to the Høstfest for more fun and laughter
Memories to cherish for a long time after
Tour is ending with much sadness and sorrow
Remember, there is always a “Rainbow” tomorrow

Homeward bound, returning the route there
Always another tour, someday, going somewhere.
