Frequent Travellers – Ken and Mabel Yeo – January 2014

We love travelling with Nagel Tours and always come home with good memories! From the wonderful reservation staff to the knowledgeable tour directors and drivers, we have experienced worry-free travel to many amazing Nagel Tours destinations. The many discounts earned over the years have certainly helped us financially when it comes to experiencing more destinations. Our favourite all time tours are Deep South Texas & Louisiana and California Scenic Pacific Coast. Along the way, we’ve met many people and made new friends that we still keep in touch with, including tour director and driver team, Judy and Ken Baggett (who now call us mum and dad). We look forward to travelling again soon.

Frequent Travellers – Mel and Janine Wenger – 2014

The owners and staff are always friendly and helpful. They treat us like family. We have always had safety conscious drivers and informative hostesses. Mel doesn’t have to drive through big cities anymore and Janine doesn’t have to read the map. We sure see a lot more and have made good friends.

ferns and tree trunks of forest Haida Gwaii

Haida Gwaii (formerly Queen Charlotte Islands)- September 9 2019

I especially appreciated the fact that the majority of stops and visits that were made focussed on indigenous communities, history and culture.  I wasn’t expecting that to the extent it turned out to be and was really pleasantly surprised.  That made the bus tour that much more meaningful because, on our own, we would never have had the opportunity to find and fit in all those fascinating glimpses of the past and present of the West Coast.

In particular, I appreciated all the readings that our Tour Director, Marilyn Annis, had been clipping and saving over the years – that was a wonderful bonus.  If some fellow travellers were not as interested in the variety and quality the circulation of articles presented, no problem because those not so interested could just pass them on.

And of course, I should mention the videos that we watched – including the “Lost Spirits”.  That was great – and really enhanced our itinerary both in advance and after our stops.

I thought all the places we stayed were excellent, including the Sea Raven Motel in Queen Charlotte, as it was really well located, served breakfast and dinner and is clearly trying hard to fit into the community successfully.

Minot Norsk Hostfest – September 2016

Minot Norsk Hostfest – September 2016

The tour left on a clear September day
Picking up passengers along the way
Destination being Norsk Høstfest in Minot
Greeting old travelling friends meant a lot

To colourful Weyburn for lunch at the Captain
Delicious soup, sandwiches, desserts that were sin
Border crossing was very smooth – according to menu
In Minot, we headed for the famous Hostfest venue

There was something new – checking your bags
Tickets were scanned, wrists were fitted with tags
Found some supper, made our way to the Great Hall
We were ushered to our seats, awaiting the curtain call

Our first show was the FANTASTIC Daniel O’Donnell
After his hiatus, he performed wonderfully well
Next few days were hectic, lots to do and see
We wandered the halls, looking for fun and tea

There were the Western Senators and Bjorn Haaland
Ringling Five, Ricky Nelson Remembered and band
Popular Accordion Club, such harmony with the banjo
Colourful costumed dancers, fiddlers, deft with the bow

Great Hall performers, crafts, books, kiosks galore
Magician, comedy acts, duos, food and much more
Off to the Scandinavian Park, for picture taking
To the shopping mall for choices of our making

Back to the Høstfest for more fun and laughter
Memories to cherish for a long time after
Tour is ending with much sadness and sorrow
Remember, there is always a “Rainbow” tomorrow

Homeward bound, returning the route there
Always another tour, someday, going somewhere.
