Vancouver Island, Victoria and Pacific Rim – June 2016

Nagel Tours has a short tour in June – so off we go!
To the magical, tranquil community of Tofino
We overnight in Salmon Arm along the way
Then off to charming Victoria, for a two night stay

A city tour, then up-island to Butchart Gardens – to see
Fountains, flowers, sculptures, and the monkey tree
Chemainus hosted the tour for coffee and the mural show
North through Duncan, then north westerly from Nanaimo

Coombs loomed up with goats grazing on a roof top
A visit is made to the Douglas Firs, for a short stop
Highway Four beckons us toward its winding terminus
Sitka spruce and pine are seen on each side of the bus

There are many ways to enjoy the paradise of Tofino
Shop!  Visit an art gallery, watch the sun on the ocean glow
Whale or bird watch, wade in the ocean, swim or surf
Have a picnic on the beach, walk along on its hard turf

Backwards we came to the ferry crossing at Departure Bay
Full speed ahead, calm sailing, anticipation all the way
We overnight in New Westminster, at the Inn at the Quay
Watched the river boats go by, sipping tea on our balcony

Three Valley Gap gives us a tour of their Ghost Town
A Farewell Barbeque is prepared for us to chow down
The tour is winding down, we are homeward bound
With memories, pictures, E-mails of new friends found

The tour passengers are dropped off here and there
Hopefully to meet again, on another tour, or somewhere
Thank you Nagel for this eventful tour – it was PRIME!
There was charm, tranquility, enjoyment for our dime
