Calgary to Cold Lake

(2 nights) Friday. Your Northeast Alberta Getaway begins as you are welcomed aboard your deluxe coach in Calgary. Travel north through Red Deer to Edmonton, picking up your travelling companions along the way. Explore the rural area northeast of Edmonton on your way to Cold Lake. Stay just outside of town at the Hotel Dene, adjacent to the Casino Dene. Your accommodation includes a GAME PLAY COUPON at the casino. Optional: This evening, have some fun at the Full Throttle Festival. The City of Cold Lake shuts down 50^th Avenue and fills it with family activities and games, a beer garden, food vendors and live entertainment.

Cold Lake

Saturday. Start your day with an included HOT BUFFET BREAKFAST. Bring your camera and binoculars this morning as you head off to the COLD LAKE AIR SHOW at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Cold Lake. This is the busiest fighter base in Canada and home to the Cold Lake Air Show. This year’s production will honour the 100^th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). The great variety of aircraft in the static displays and aerial demonstrations will surely make Canada’s biggest military air show a spectacular treat! There will also be a classic car show on-site, food vendors and more. After the show, return to your hotel to relax by the pool or try your luck at the casino.

Cold Lake to Calgary

Sunday. Enjoy an included HOT BUFFET BREAKFAST before departing your hotel. Pass through Alberta’s Lakeland Region, stopping in St. Paul to see the famous UFO LANDING PAD, then visiting the world’s largest PYSANKA EASTER EGG in Vegreville. Share your favourite highlights of the weekend with new-found friends on your ride home. The tour concludes in Calgary approximately 6:00 p.m.
