Home Cities to Toronto

(2 nights) Friday. Your Exciting Holiday begins as you board your jet and fly to Toronto.  Upon arrival transfer independently to your airport hotel where you have been pre‑registered. A complimentary AIRPORT SHUTTLE is provided to the Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Airport. This evening features an informal WELCOME RECEPTION.

Toronto/Niagara Area

Saturday. Visit one of the world’s greatest wonders – Niagara Falls, on a day trip through the Golden Horseshoe to the Niagara Peninsula. Get a close-up view of the falls with NIAGARA CITY CRUISES by HORNBLOWER.  Enjoy free time on famous CLIFTON HILL, a scenic trip on the NIAGARA PARKWAY to NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, a WINERY tour in the heart of Ontario’s Wine Country, and a stop at WELLAND CANAL LOCK 3 for a view of the impressive canal where the St. Lawrence Seaway bypasses Niagara Falls. Toronto to Gananoque

Sunday. Begin your day with a spectacular view of Canada’s largest city from the CN TOWER. Learn about this sophisticated city and surrounding area while on tour with a local STEP-ON GUIDE before departing for the popular resort community of Gananoque for overnight. Gananoque to Quebec City

(2 nights) Monday. All Aboard! Enjoy your morning BOAT CRUISE on the St. Lawrence River through the heart of the 1000 ISLANDS.  Travel into Canada’s largest province, through historic villages along the banks of the mighty St. Lawrence River before arriving in the oldest French settlement in North America for a two-night stay.

Tuesday. Accompanied by a local expert, explore over 400 years of history as portrayed on a GUIDED TOUR of the only walled city north of Mexico. Your afternoon will include free time to stroll the narrow winding streets and experience the charm of this fortified city with its European flare. Before returning to your hotel, enjoy a fun evening featuring a HOSTED DINNER at an authentic SUGAR SHACK – a perfect ending to an interesting day.

Quebec City to Riviere Du Loup

Wednesday. Travel the historic north shore today on Canada’s oldest road, Avenue Royale. Stop at an OLD-FASHIONED BAKE OVEN renowned for its maple butter on fresh-baked bread. Visit the famous shrine of STE-ANNE-DE-BEAUPRE, destination of many pilgrimages, and discover CANYON STE-ANNE with its soaring waterfalls and suspension bridges. A FERRY ride across the St. Lawrence River brings you to Riviere du Loup for overnight.  Don’t forget to watch for whales and marine mammals as you cross!

Riviere Du Loup to Moncton

Thursday. Travel along the St. Lawrence Estuary to the city of Mont Joli. Follow the scenic Matapedia Valley to the tip of Chaleur Bay where you’ll say “Au Revoir” to the province of Quebec and enter our first Maritime province, New Brunswick. View fishing villages stretched along the Francophone coast where communities have either a large church as its centre, or a lighthouse on the shore. Arrive in the bilingual city of Moncton for an overnight stay. Experience the tastes and sounds of this uniquely urban destination situated in the Petitcodiac River Valley, rich in Acadian history.

Moncton to Charlottetown

(3 nights) Friday. Test your sense of perception this morning at MAGNETIC HILL which has puzzled visitors for decades on how vehicles coast uphill – is it magnetic, an illusion or a gravitational mystery – be prepared to be amazed!  Visit the fishing village of SHEDIAC for a photo opportunity with the WORLD’S LARGEST LOBSTER.  Cross the Northumberland Strait via CONFEDERATION BRIDGE to arrive in Prince Edward Island for a three-night stay.  This curved, 12.9 km (8 mile) long bridge is the longest in the world crossing ice-covered water.  Tonight experience a true “Island Tradition” as our guest at a HOSTED LOBSTER DINNER. Charlottetown

Saturday. With a LOCAL GUIDE see the unique sights of the island including GREEN GABLES HERITAGE PLACE, CAVENDISH BEACH and CHARLOTTETOWN.  This evening choose to be entertained by local entertainers at the Confederation Centre of the Arts (theatre schedule pending), or relax on your own.

Charlottetown

Sunday. A FREE DAY to enjoy historic Charlottetown!  Choose to follow the signs and storyboards of ‘tales of old’ while exploring historic Great George Street or watch for cruise ships while wandering the waterfront of Confederation Landing Park.  Tickle your taste buds with one of many local flavours along the way.

Charlottetown to Baddeck

(2 nights) Monday. Travel to Wood Islands and board the FERRY to Caribou on the Nova Scotia mainland.  Drive across the Strait of Canso, the deepest causeway in the world, onto Cape Breton Island.  Continue to the resort town of Baddeck, nestled along the shores of the Bras d’Or Lake for a two-night stay.  Prior to arriving at your hotel, visit the ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL MUSEUM to see the many exhibits of this famous inventor who spent much of his life on Cape Breton Island. Savour a taste of Nova Scotia from land and sea with one of the best views at a HOSTED DINNER.

Tuesday. The spectacular scenery of Cape Breton Island unfolds during a circle tour of the CABOT TRAIL.  Enjoy picture stops and a PICNIC LUNCH as you travel through CAPE BRETON HIGHLANDS NATIONAL PARK with its coastal mountain peaks, quaint seaports and rugged coastline. Share your favourite Cape Breton highlights with fellow friends at tonight’s HOSTED DINNER.

Baddeck to Halifax

(2 nights) Wednesday. Continue your journey to Halifax, Nova Scotia’s capital.  Be impressed by the natural beauty of this harbour-front setting. Touch a piece of military history with an afternoon visit to the Halifax CITADEL National Historic Site as it comes to life with the sounds and colour of the mid-1800s. No longer a military fortification, today it continues to serve as a majestic window to the past atop Citadel Hill overlooking this “city on the sea.” Arrive at your centrally located hotel for two nights.

Halifax

Thursday. Your morning GUIDED TOUR introduces you to Atlantic Canada’s largest city.  Later, the call of the ocean and beauty of the sea will lure you to picturesque LUNENBURG along the south shore of Nova Scotia. Continue to one of Canada’s most popular stops in Atlantic Canada, PEGGY’S COVE. With its lighthouse sitting on a massive granite ledge, this cove is a mecca for artists and photographers alike.  Enjoy a late afternoon visit and optional meal in this very East Coast locale.  Return to Halifax for overnight.

Halifax to Saint John

Friday. “Spread your tiny wings and tour away” while at the ANNE MURRAY CENTRE in Springhill, hometown of Canada’s famous “Snowbird”.  Re-enter New Brunswick and stop in HOPEWELL CAPE, location of the highest tides in the world.  View the Flower Pot Rocks carved by the Fundy tides.  These peculiar formations are forested islands at high tide and resemble flowerpots at low tide.  Travel through FUNDY NATIONAL PARK and arrive in Canada’s Loyalist City, Saint John.

Saint John to Fredericton

Saturday. Come witness the REVERSING RAPIDS where the Bay of Fundy’s highest tides pour, push and rise into the Saint John River to reverse its direction. Travel to ST. ANDREWS BY THE SEA, Canada’s first seaside resort. This afternoon you won’t have to imagine what life was like 200 years ago in New Brunswick, step back in time and live it during a visit to KING’S LANDING.  No time like the present to discover the past! Overnight in New Brunswick’s capital city, Fredericton.

Fredericton to Levis

Sunday. Before leaving the last of the Maritime provinces, adventure across the HARTLAND COVERED BRIDGE National Historic Site, longest in the world.  As you return to Quebec, visit SAINT-JEAN-PORT-JOLI to see the works of the famous wood carvers.  Tonight, enjoy the view of Quebec City from across the river as you overnight in the small, picturesque city of Levis with its village-like feel.

Levis to Ottawa

(2 nights) Monday. Pass through south shore farmlands along the St. Lawrence River before arriving in Montreal for lunch. Lots of options to choose from in Montreal’s OLD PORT district before a driving tour to the iconic landmark of MONT ROYAL. Find out why this small mountain at the heart of the second largest city in Canada occupies such a big place in Montreal’s history, heritage and identity.  Continue on to Canada’s picturesque capital for the next two nights.
