Highlights include a day excursion to the beautiful Lake Tahoe area, Carson City – Nevada’s capital, and a visit to Virginia City – a national historic district. A free day, three scenic national forests and a visit to a full-scale replica of Stonehenge on the cliffs of the Columbia River will round out your trip.

Edmonton to Calgary to Great Falls

Sunday. Your Northern Nevada Sightseeing Tour begins as you are welcomed aboard your deluxe coach in Edmonton. Travel south via Red Deer, Calgary to Lethbridge meeting your travel companions enroute. Passengers boarding the coach in Lethbridge will be dropped off in Fort Macleod on the return trip. Stop at the duty-free store before entering the USA and arrive at the Holiday Inn in Great Falls, Montana for overnight. Join an informal WELCOME MEET and GREET upon arrival.

Great Falls to Jackpot

Monday. Sit back and watch the scenery pass by, rolling through the impressive canyons of Montana and the high plains of Idaho. See the rugged Snake River Canyon at Twin Falls, enter the state of Nevada and end your day in Jackpot. When Idaho outlawed all forms of casino gambling in 1954, two industrious business-owners moved their slot machines just inside the Nevada border to form what is now known as the town of Jackpot. Overnight at Cactus Pete’s Resort Casino.

Jackpot to Reno

(3 nights) Tuesday. Journey across the vast Nevada desert through Winnemucca, named for a 19th century Northern Paiute Chief, and onward to Reno, “The Biggest Little City in the World”. Your three-night stay is at the centrally located Circus Circus Hotel, connected by a skywalk to the Eldorado and Silver Legacy Resort Casinos. These three casino resort hotels make up “The Row”.

Reno

Wednesday. Today follow Highway 431 to visit NORTH LAKE TAHOE, known as the “Jewel of the Sierra”. Have your camera ready to capture the vistas of this beautiful freshwater lake as you wind along its shores, starting in INCLINE VILLAGE. View the historic buildings on a short DRIVING TOUR of CARSON CITY, Nevada’s capital, before completing your day with a TOUR of the Victorian-era town of VIRGINIA CITY. The history of Virginia City is brought to life as you stroll the wooden boardwalks and discover the restored buildings. Return to Reno for overnight.

Reno

Thursday. Enjoy a FREE DAY in Reno. Explore the city or partake in the various activities offered at your hotel. You may wish to ride our OPTIONAL SHUTTLE to the National Automobile Museum where the stories of more than 225 cars are brought to life, along with a visit to Meadowood Mall, Reno’s largest shopping center.

Reno to Klamath Falls/Chiloquin

Friday. Bid farewell to Reno and head north to Alturas, California for a morning break. Drive past the 1.6‑million-acre MODOC NATIONAL FOREST and GOOSE LAKE, a large alkaline lake formed from precipitation and melting glaciers. Arrive in Lakeview, Oregon, in time for an included LUNCH. Continue to south-central Oregon for overnight at the Sleep Inn in Klamath Falls/Chiloquin.

Klamath Falls/Chiloquin

to Pasco

Saturday. This morning, cruise through the remarkable landscape of two national forests on your way to the high desert city of Bend. Visit the STONEHENGE MEMORIAL, a full-scale replica built on the cliffs of the mighty Columbia River. Follow alongside the river on your way to Pasco, one of Washington’s Tri‑Cities, stopping for the night at the Red Lion Hotel.

Pasco to Cranbrook

Sunday. Today’s travels take you north through the croplands, grassy plains, and rolling hills of Washington and northern Idaho. Cross the United States/Canada border, entering southeastern British Columbia. Watch the stunning scenery of the Kootenays go by before settling in at the St. Eugene Resort & Casino for your last night. Join your fellow travellers for a HOSTED FAREWELL DINNER.
