Edmonton to Calgary to Great Falls

Saturday.  Your Northern Nevada Sightseeing Tour begins as you are welcomed aboard your deluxe coach in Edmonton.  Lethbridge passengers will be dropped off in Fort Mcleod on the return trip. Travel south via Red Deer to Calgary meeting additional travel companions enroute.  Stop at the duty free store before crossing the Canadian/American border.  Arrive for overnight at the Holiday Inn Great Falls, Montana.  Enjoy an informal WELCOME RECEPTION upon arrival.

Great Falls to Jackpot

Sunday. Sit back and enjoy the scenery as your travels take you through the beautiful canyons of Montana and the high plains of Idaho.  See the stunning Snake River Canyon at Twin Falls, enter the state of Nevada and end your day in Jackpot.  When Idaho outlawed all forms of casino gambling in 1954…two industrious business-owners moved their slot machines just inside the Nevada border to form the town of what is now known as Jackpot. Jackpot to Reno

(3 nights) Monday. This morning enjoy a visit to the interesting “TRAIL OF THE 49ers” INTERPRETIVE CENTER in Wells. Then your journey takes you across the vast Nevada desert through Winnemucca, named for a 19th century Northern Pauite Chief and into Reno, The Biggest Little City in the World. Your three‑night stay is at the centrally-located Circus Circus Hotel, connected by a skywalk to the Eldorado and Silver Legacy Resort Casinos. These three hotels make up ‘The Row’.

Reno

Tuesday. Today our travels take us on Highway 431 to visit LAKE TAHOE. Have your cameras ready for views of this beautiful freshwater lake as we do a scenic drive along its shores. Come back down into the CARSON VALLEY as you make your way to historic GENOA, where mule deer freely wander in the streets and yards. Nevada was born here in 1851 as Mormon Station. View the historic buildings on a short driving tour of CARSON CITY, Nevada’s capital city before completing your day with a TOUR of historic VIRGINIA CITY. Every part of this Victorian-era town celebrates its colourful history. Return to Reno for overnight.

Reno

Wednesday. Enjoy a free day in Reno today, Veteran’s Day. Explore the city, take in Nevada’s Official Veteran’s Day Parade, or just enjoy the variety of activities at your hotel. If you wish, in the early afternoon, join us for OPTIONAL SHOPPING. Afterwards, return to the hotel for overnight.

Reno to Klamath Falls

Thursday. Bid farewell to Reno.  Travel north to Alturas, California for a morning break and then our travels take us beside the 1.6 million acre MODOC NATIONAL FOREST and GOOSE LAKE – a large alkaline lake formed from precipitation and melting glaciers.  Arrive in Lakeview, Oregon early afternoon for lunch followed by WINE TASTING at Backyard Floral and Wine Shop.  Continue to Klamath Falls for your overnight.

Klamath Falls to Pasco

Friday.  This morning takes us through two national forests on our way to Bend.  Enjoy an afternoon drive along the beautiful Columbia River on your way to Pasco, one of Washington’s Tri-Cities, for overnight.

Pasco to Cranbrook

Saturday.  Your travels today take you north through the beautiful states of Washington and northern Idaho. Cross the US/Canadian border, enter the Kootenays and arrive in Cranbrook for overnight. Join your fellow travellers for a HOSTED FAREWELL DINNER.

Cranbrook to Calgary to Edmonton

Sunday. Return home with fond memories of your northern Nevada holiday.
