Victoria to Tofino

(2 nights) Tuesday.  Leaving Victoria behind, follow the Malahat Highway north, making a stop in the picturesque artisan village of CHEMAINUS.  Continue through Nanaimo and visit COOMBS OLD COUNTRY MARKET, the island landmark famous for the goats grazing on its roof.  Head west, stopping to stretch your legs at CATHEDRAL GROVE, with its stands of towering Douglas-fir trees, some more than 800 years old.  Arrive at the coastal community of Tofino for a two-night stay at the Best Western Plus Tin Wis Resort, where the oceanfront rooms and landscaped grounds lead to the sheltered sands of MacKenzie Beach.  Join the group for an included dinner.

Tofino

Wednesday.  Today, board a customized tour boat for an unforgettable adventure in one of the world’s best locations for a WHALE WATCHING TOUR! Gray whales are commonly seen in the spring as they migrate to feed in northern waters, along with orcas, humpback whales and other marine wildlife.  Back on land, find some lunch, stop at a gallery or shop as you stroll around Tofino.  Return to your hotel for some free time to bury your toes in the sand or beachcomb along the shoreline.
